That includes the replacement of not just windshields but door glasses, side glasses, vent glasses, rear glasses, Door motor and regulator replacements and panoramic roof replacements. We offer ADAS (Advanced driving assistance system) calibrations. We also carry out windshield rock chip repair, crack repair, glass coatings, headlight restorations and wiper blade replacements. 1991

From Air Force Engineer to UK's Leading Mobile Windshield Repair Service

Optic-Kleer began in 1991, founded by Eric Howe, a former Air Force Fast Jet engineer with a vision to simplify windshield repair. After leaving the military, Eric was frustrated by how inconvenient and expensive it was to fix a chipped windshield. He saw an opportunity to create a faster, more accessible service—and launched a mobile repair business that quickly grew across the UK. By partnering with all major UK grocery chains, Optic-Kleer made it easy for customers to get their windshields repaired while they shopped.

2006

Acquisition, Expansion, and Building America's Full-Service Auto Glass Solution

In 2006, the company was acquired by a Dallas-based automotive franchise group, leading Eric to relocate to Texas. After working with the U.S. team and gaining key insights, he later reacquired Optic-Kleer and began building a national auto glass company in America. The service offering expanded to include windshield replacements, ADAS recalibration, and headlight restoration—making Optic-Kleer a full-service solution.

2020

COVID-19 Accelerates U.S. Franchise Launch and Rapid Growth

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic fast-tracked the launch of the U.S. franchise program, driven by the demand for mobile, contactless service. Thanks to the success of its franchisees and licensees, Optic-Kleer grew rapidly.

2025

Mobile-Plus-Leased Building Model Drives Record Growth and Investment

By 2025, the brand evolved from a mobile-only model to a mobile-plus-leased building model, dramatically increasing earnings potential. This shift attracted serious investors and positioned Optic-Kleer as the fastest-growing auto glass franchise in the U.S.

Optic-Kleer believes that if you look after your customers they will look after you. We also believe in good old fashion manners. Please and Thank you go a long way to creating respect. If we are scheduled to start a job at 10:00 then we will be there at 09:55 and if we are going to be late because as we all know ‘life happens’ we inform our customers. Everything auto glass is guaranteed for as long as a customer owns the vehicle. Headlight restoration is guaranteed for two years and all windshield replacements come with a lifetime rock chip warranty meaning that if the customer has their windshield chipped we will repair that damage completely free of charge. We want to keep our customers so go beyond even what our guarantees say to achieve that objective. In summary, it’s not difficult to operate a good business. Do to others as you would hope would be done to oneself and you will flourish. That goes to helping our competition too. There is plenty of business out there for everyone and doing the ‘right’ thing means we can all go home at the end of the day and sleep. What could be better than that?
